Do companies and Government Departments think they are being helpful by having 0845 phone numbers?
Are they getting a kick back? Remember the GPs all having 0844 numbers for "better patient service"? Oh yes and 5p per minute as their share of the call charge!
Are 0800 numbers any use now a days?
I don't know about you but I have a phone deal that for a few pounds a month I can get free calls to UK landlines. My mobile phone contract has hundreds of free minutes for calls to UK landlines and mobiles.
What aren't included ... non Geographical Calls anything 08 ... (from the mobile that includes 0800) so you have to pay!
You get through to the Tax Office ... hold for half an hour ... get shuffled around a few people ... get no real help and it has cost you a pound (or more) for something you have already paid for!
Dear Government and UK Companies.
Please give an 01 (or 02 in London etc) phone number for those of us with free call arrangements.
Otherwise people might start to think that you are deliberately making people hold to increase your "commission" earnings from the phone companies and that is not the case is it?
